The Park, Wednesday afternoon

Artie was out and about in the park with a butterfly net.

This might have something to do with those foul freaky feathered fiends, the ducks.

It also might have something to do with the fact that Mortimer, his buggy companion, is nowhere in sight.

It's Artie. Who knows, really?

Here comes Jude at full speed, using ducks, pedestrians, and just about everything else as an obstacle course. Oooh, bench. Time for a grind.

Or, you know, he could just hit the bench at full speed, miss the trick completely, and end up four feet away on his back.

"Duuude, haaaaaaaaaarsh."

[identity profile] dude-its-jude.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm fine, bro," Jude replied, peering up at him upsidedown. "Nice shirt." He chuckled, but he actually liked the shirt. Jude is incapable of sarcasm.

Jude straightened the tuque as he climbed to his feet and retrieved his board. "Thanks, dude," he said with a mellow smile. "I'm rather fond of it myself."

[identity profile] dude-its-jude.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Jude chuckled. "When I'm up in Algonquin I do," he drawled.

[identity profile] dude-its-jude.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Jude, completely not phrased by the bounding, posing, overuse of italics, introduction, and love of canoes, shook his hand. "I'm Jude, bro."

[identity profile] dude-its-jude.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"I prefer water, bro," Jude replied placidly. "Parking lots are better for skating. But I've never tried grass so I can't form an opinion of it at the moment."

Canoe on grass.

Awesome.

"Wicked, bro!" Jude grinned as he settled into the canoe with his board across his needs. "Want me to help paddle?"

[identity profile] dude-its-jude.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Jude wasn't exactly sure how he was supposed to propel the canoe forward, having only had experience with, y'know, water. But he went with the flow and paddled. It seemed to work. Somehow.

"Sure, bro," he chuckled.

[identity profile] dude-its-jude.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Jude would be singing along if he knew the words. But he didn't. He was, however, paddling in time.

This was kinda cool.

He should tell Jen. Maybe she could get grass-travelling canoes in at the Penalty Box.

[identity profile] dude-its-jude.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"Whoa, dude," Jude said as the ride got bumpier. "Awwwwwwwwwwwesome."

Yep, definitely talking to Jen. He wondered how land canoes did on tile.

[identity profile] dude-its-jude.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Jude didn't know the right words anyway. He was, however, humming along to the tune as he paddled, a blissful, zen-like expression on his face. Let nothing harsh this boy's mellow.

Not quite ready to brave the actual town yet, Tim decided to check out the park. He told himself he would not compare it to Central Park.

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. Well that was different. Tim stopped to watch what in New York was either performance art, or, maybe this was how some of his adventures had looked to those who couldn't see the Fae.

*Deja Vu*

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Tim looked behind him to see who the energetic lunatic was talking to.

"Huh?" My but he was an articulate boy wasn't he.

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Uh, I think you may have me mistaken for someone else." Tim said. Unfortunately he wasn't entirely CERTAIN of that.

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Well that cleared it up. "No, I'm Tim Desmond from Flatbush." he said. "And I've never been a Range Boy. Just a babysitter. It's nice to meet you Mr..."

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh right. Duh, in the confusing conversation earlier the guy had introduced himself hadn't he. "Sorry I'm not who you thought I was. Sounds like quite a guy."

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-11 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
And here he thought after the return, nothing could make him stand momentarily speechless with his mouth open.
"Uhm, yes?"

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-11 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
So pipe was good then. "And yours? Has it been...pipe?"

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-11 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
A slow smile appeared on Tim's face. He was beginning to like this weirdo. And he was starting to understand what he was saying.
"Yeah it's a lot of folks to meet."

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-11 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
If anyone would be able to see the Fae, it'd be this guy. "Well it's kinda a long story. But to sum it up, my hometown got a sudden influx of Faeries, and I'm supposed to help them integrate. I got sent here because it's supposed to help me deal with the unusual."

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-11 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm getting that sense yeah." He paused. "Emo? The red furry guy from Sunflower Road?"

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-11 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. "Good to know. Thanks for the warning."

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-11 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
He was almost afraid to ask. "What's the net for?"

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-11 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
"...Of course. Well, I think I'll let you get back to it then. I'm sure I'll see you around Artie."
